Fireman Sam was created by Firemen David Jones and Dave Gingell when they worked at Clerkenwell station in London.

Pontypandy Fire Station is manned by Station Officer Steele who is in charge and is a stickler for detail and the rules.

Fireman Elvis is the station cook and as his name suggests loves to sing! You can often hear him singing a jingle and always has his guitar close to hand in the station.

Penny Morris is the only female officer in the station and is in charge of sea rescues with her trusty rescue boat Neptune. So if you find yourself in trouble off the coast of Pontypandy, you can be sure that Penny Morris will rush to your rescue in Neptune!
